Job Summary: 

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Facility Manager to join our team at PicklePlex. The Facility Manager will be the key person responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our pickleball facility, ensuring it remains in excellent condition, and managing all staff members, including hourly employees and volunteers. This individual should be enthusiastic about pickleball and embody the spirit of our organization. The Facility Manager will initially report to the President of the Board, with the potential to report to an Executive Director in the future as the organization grows. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Oversee the daily operations of the pickleball facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff. 2.Manage facility maintenance and repairs, coordinating with vendors and contractors as necessary to maintain the highest standards of quality. 

2. Recruit, hire, train, and manage hourly employees, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. 

3. Serve as the primary point of contact for members, employees, partners, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. 4

4. Work closely with the President of the Board and other senior leadership to develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. 

5. Manage the facility's budget and financial operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability as a nonprofit organization. 

6. Ensure that all organizational activities and events comply with relevant legal, safety, and ethical standards. 7

7. Actively promote pickleball and the facility's programs, events, and initiatives within the local community and beyond. 

  

Qualifications: 

1. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 2

2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management or similar, preferably within the fitness, sports, or recreation industry. 

3. Proven track record of success in managing complex facilities and leading teams. 

4. Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for pickleball and its community.

5. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 

6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 8

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
